NEWS / RED FPT WINNER OF 2008 COWES-TORQUAY-COWES

Cowes (Isle of Wight - UK) – A fantastic affirmation of Fabio Buzzi who has won for the third time in UK, the most prestigious world offshore race, the Cowes-Torquay-Cowes of 182 miles.

Buzzi has centred the success with Red_FPT, a FB 50' (14,50 meters) monohull boat, that is nothing but the legendary Cesa 1882, perfectly restored, World Champion in the Offshore Class 1 for two consecutive years, in 1988 and in 1989. This boat has been built in 1985 in FB Design shipyard, in Annone Brianza (Lecco –Italy) and equipped with four Fpt (Fiat Powertrain Technologies) turbodiesel engines, six cylinders of 600 Hp.

Together with Buzzi, the team was composed by the Spanish gentleman Rafael Del Pino (President of the company Ferrovial) and the English Simon Powell.

But there is something more in the Fabio Buzzi 's success. The first four boats arrived at the finishing line of Cowes (on a total number of 40), on the Isle of Wight, South UK, are all FB Design boats.

Arrival order at Cowes-Torquay-Cowes 2008:
